Glorious Candied Bacon

Yes, bacon can be made even better with some simple household ingredients. Candied bacon adds sweet, and a little heat, to basic bacon, making even cheap, thin slices taste divine.

For the most part, I already cook my bacon in the oven, as I find it the best way to get the crispness I prefer, as well as keep most of the fat as clean as possible. Of course, making candied bacon, you’re not keeping the fat, but the same general rules apply. So without further ado, here is the wonderful recipe

Candied Bacon


  • Bacon
  • Brown Sugar
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Cayenne (optional)


  1. Preheat the oven to 375 and wrap a cookie sheet in aluminum foil
  2. Lay the bacon out on a rack (SPRAY THE RACK WITH COOKING SPRAY)on the cookie sheet
  3. Cover with brown sugar
  4. When evenly covered, sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste, add cayenne if interested
  5. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until all the sugar is melted
  6. Enjoy.
